Breast enhancement or augmentation surgery is one of the more sought after cosmetic procedures. The safety of saline implants and patient satisfaction has driven medical technology to improve this surgical technique. Traditional surgical approaches place incisions under the breasts and/or around the pink area surrounding the nipple. This allows immediate access to the implant site for placement. This, however, disrupts the "touch sensitivity" and "eye appeal" of breast surgery. The advanced approach places a minimum one-inch access incision in the armpit to allow fiber optic guidance of the implant into its aesthetic position. Because there are no incisions on the breast, the "touch sensitivity" is preserved and the "eye appeal" is tremendously enhanced.
