Our eyes are usually the first feature to show the signs of aging. An upper lid blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) helps alleviate the tired or sad appearance. It is critical in someone over 35 to make sure the brow is in correct position before considering upper eyelid surgery. In many cases when the brow is repositioned to a natural youthful position there is no need for upper eyelid surgery. On the other hand if upper eyelid surgery is done without needed brow elevation the eyes can look even smaller and more brooding.

Concerning the lower lid, nowhere is a the adage "Less is More" more appropriate. For years surgeons have been taking fat out of the lower lid leaving people with a sunken hollow unhealthy look. We now know it is rarely indicated to remove fat from the lower lid. An endoscopic mid-facelift almost always removes lower eyelid bulges by returning lower eyelid fat into the eye orbit. Lower lid wrinkles can easily be attended to with the Sciton erbion laser resurfacing.
